The rain’s a pain, now we want to double up - Gale : Yorkshire CCC

They were on a nice run after the wins on Thursday & Friday, & on Sunday they were supposed to be playing Northants who are in indifferent form at the moment.

SUNDAY'S weather was hugely frustrating for everyone in the Yorkshire T20 squad to be perfectly honest.

They fancied our chances to go & win in a row, so it was frustrating. But I guess everyone in the country got washed out, no-one gained an advantage, &, after all's said & done, they can't do anything about the weather.

This week we've had Monday & Tuesday off but we'll train hard today & Thursday before the T20 Roses game at Headingley on Friday & then the LV County Championship stuff starts again on Saturday at Durham.

It's been frustrating, but were looking forward to getting back to our cricket.

On my days off I try & get away from the game , spend some time with my relatives & stuff & reflect on what has happened over the last couple of weeks & how they can improve as a side & I think consistency is going to be the key.

Then we'll get back together on Wednesday & Thursday.

Gareth Andrew played exceptionally well to get them back in the game but I thought they played well & probably deserved to win by a bigger margin.

Looking back at last week's games, Worcester was a nipper & it got closer than it ought to have done.

The nice thing for me is that they showed lots of character on Thursday & Friday, & in games that were close games they came out on top.

However, T20 cricket is like that, it's the nature of the game, & a side will come back & chase the game & that's exactly what they did.

Thats the sign of a nice side I think.

Mentally, the games were nippers tight affairs but when you come out on top it gives you tons of confidence.

The Lancashire match was as well as a nice, with a full house at Elderly Trafford, & there is no better way to win than they did there in the last over to silence the home crowd!

It was tremendous feeling & Azeem Rafiq played exceptionally well under pressure there.

I think they will bowl better with the addition of Jimmy Anderson in to the assault & I think we've got to receive a sizable total & hopefully receive a few early wickets.

We've also got England's Third Check against Sri Lanka to look forward to this week & I presume it will be a dry, flat pitch at the Rose Bowl.

Obviously Sri Lanka are going to rely a lot on Sangakkara & Jayawardene even more now that Dilshan has been ruled out with a broken thumb , so weve got to get those guys out early to have a chance of winning.
